Virginia Institute Action (VIA) is an independent, nonpartisan, advocacy organization based in Lexington, Virginia. At VIA, we believe in the power of ordinary Virginians to shape their own future. Our work is built on the conviction that freedom, opportunity, and local communities—not sprawling government—are the true backbone of our Commonwealth.
What We Stand For

Education: We believe education should empower students and their families—not the state—so we back reforms that shift control from bureaucrats to parents and local communities.
Elections: We defend free and fair elections by demanding transparency, accurate voter rolls, and a system that returns power to the people instead of centralized elites.
Healthcare: We stand for a healthcare system driven by competition, innovation and access—not by heavy regulation and entrenched interests.
Regulatory: We insist that government regulations must be lean, predictable and in service of opportunity—not a maze that chokes entrepreneurs and taxpayers.
Good Governance: We hold that the government should protect your rights and property, operate with accountability, and remain strictly within constitutional limits.
